The fine print, in normal English
Five things people ask before buying.
What format are the files?
Direct purchases: PDF (works on every device, every OS, no app needed). Amazon: Kindle's standard eBook format, readable on Kindle devices and the free Kindle app on iOS, Android, Mac, PC, and web.
How do updates work?
Direct buyers: when a tool we cover changes meaningfully (privacy default, pricing, major feature), we rewrite the affected sections and email you the new PDF automatically. Free, forever. Amazon doesn't support push updates the same way. That's why direct buyers get a benefit Kindle buyers don't.
Can I print them?
Yes. Direct PDFs are designed to print well at A4 or US Letter. We don't sell printed copies because shipping a 100-page book costs more than the book. Print at home or at a copy shop if you'd rather work on paper.
Do I own the file?
You own a personal-use copy. Read it. Share excerpts. Quote it. Keep it forever. What you can't do: upload, redistribute, resell, or build a competing paid product on top of it. Standard digital book license.
What if Amazon delists a guide?
Direct PDFs are the source of truth. Amazon is a distribution channel. We don't depend on it. If Amazon ever pulls a guide, we'll still have it for sale here, and your direct copy stays valid forever.
What about EU VAT, sales tax, etc.?
For Amazon Kindle purchases, Amazon is the merchant of record and handles tax collection on their end.
If something goes wrong
How to get help, fast.
If your direct purchase email never arrives, if a download link expired, if a PDF is corrupted, if anything feels off, email hello@ai-field-guide.com with your order ID. We respond same-day during the work week.
For Amazon issues (refunds, delivery problems, account stuff), Amazon support handles those. They're the merchant for Kindle purchases. For everything about the content of a Kindle book (a missing section, a typo, a request for clarification), email us directly.
